I have been on Dextroamphetamine for about two years now. Before that I was on Adderall. My body chemistry changes every two to three years and the medication stops working. I was just in Philly and all set with pharmacy mailing the dextroamphetamine to my NJ home which is great. Unfortunately, I am super sensitive to medication and am on 10 to 20mg a day and up to 30mg when out of remission. I am up to 60mg and am up at night urinating which means it is not working. I weigh myself daily and am not able to take off any more water weight and am up a pound! Yikes! I spoke with Dr. Cohen today and she is ordering the Adderall again. I prefer the tablets over the slow release capsules as for me I have more control if I need to take a bit more can just cut them in half. It is always upsetting as the fear that comes when the medicine stops working. It has happened to me at least 3 times in the past. Poor hubby going back to Philadelphia today to get script and fill for me so I don't have to wait to get them by mail. The Wellness Pharmacy that does the mailing does not have the tablets in stock so Bill (hubby) will go to the Walgreens near the office that has a better supply on hand. Then we can give scripts to other pharmacy so they can be mailed. So I will keep you updated as to what happens. Sometimes the medication may not work for you and you may need the Brand instead of generic or vice versa. Other times it can be you need a change in the manufacturer. This has occurred with other people so they are aware of the need sometimes for a change. If it can happen, it seems to happen to me. ;-)
