I had been ill with neck herniation issues which recently have resolved and I am like a new person! I went out of remission several months ago and the medication was not working. Well, this has happened before and I switched back to Dexedrine. To my horror that was not working either. It did not work day one, worked day two and then stopped! I did not know then what I should do so I discussed this with Dr. Rachel Cohen (works with Dr. Jerome Check), and we decided on complete blood work which was normal. We then decided on full hormonal panel which she mailed and I had done close to my home. All was normal there as well. I then tried Vyvanse which is another drug similar to the others but works a bit differently in the body. It is expensive so it is not offered as a first option as normally the other two usually do the job. My insurance covers most and the co-pay is a bit more but very doable. I went off all meds for a week as I wanted to see if I continued on an upward scale and with the fluid increasing I then started the Vyvanse. It worked great and slowly the fluid came off. I was on 30mg but had to call 2 weeks later to decrease the dosage as it felt too much. I loved this medication as I never felt the morning buzz rush or the fatigue in late afternoon. I just felt normal! Yea!! Now back to my normal weight, I am on the Keto diet to lose the extra ten pounds that I intended to before everything went crazy with my body. I am staying on 20mg for now as that is enough for my body to rid the fluid. Something probably was going on physiologically for me as why would the Dexedrine not work day one but go gang busters on day two and then nothing after that for the next few weeks? Well, all is good again and I am so active again that people who know me mention that it is like I have "awakened." Let me know how you are all doing. When I had the fluid, I had the worst case of carpal tunnel for months so I am back and here to help again. Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Years! :-)
