I was previously on Adderall xr brand and did well. I eventually stopped last summer and my edema was minimal for a while.
Edema started coming back in Nov and recently got to the point where my Uggs were tight on my ankles (which has never happened before). So i scheduled with dr cohen and see her next monday. In the meantime, i started generic adderall that i had from the past. It initially helped some. I lost 2 pounds fluid the first day. Its been 1.5 weeks and make ankles are seeming most swollen ever! Additionally, i have freezing hands and feet, dizziness at times to point i should not drive, shortness of breath, migraines, feel really tired, etc. I never had any of this bef re on brand adderall xr.
What do u guys think? Is it the generic (barr)? Should i just stop til i see dr cohen?
Thanks
How did you do with Dr. Cohen? I am always interested to see what the outcome was. Hope you are doing better.
If you retain enough fluid it will go into your legs and ankles. If you don't stay on the medication daily, the edema and symptoms are worse. I know from my own experience and Dr. Cohen has seen this quite often as well. The shortness of breath is part of the disorder due to the fluid around the lungs. Feeling tired also goes with this as well as the dizziness. I have experienced these symptoms myself many times. It is better now that I take medication every day instead of only when you are out of remission. I also got migraines from the fluid plus I have herniated discs so the fluid sitting on those makes it worse. I too experience the freezing hands and feet alternating between the very hot and swollen hands. If the Adderal is no longer working you can ask for Dexedrine or use Vyvanse which I am taking and love. My body stopped reacting to the others this winter and I like the Vyvanse better as I experience no heart palpitations or the feel of speeding when I first take it. It doesn't effect me except for alleviating these unpleasant symptoms. I will be seeing Dr. Cohen on Tuesday for myself. These symptoms you mentioned are all a part of the disorder. I was frightened in the beginning when I did not understand what was happening to me with all these crazy symptoms. If the Adderal is not helping (weigh yourself each day) then stop and wait for Dr. Cohen on Monday. Let me know how you do.
