Does anyone have issues with your intestines not working from time to time. I am not talking about the constipation that often comes with this disorder but with an almost paralysis of your intestines. I recently had this for about two weeks with all the crazy weather changes, rain and humidity. I was taking a colon cleanse amount of pills at night with no results. Swelling and nausea was awful because what was going in was not coming out. Oh my goodness! It was time for my Colonoscopy as I was really overdue. I took the 2 Ducolax pills as prescribed and then drank a 10 ounce bottle of Citrate of Magnesia. That is like drinking poison, it is god awful stuff really. Nothing happened as I began to swell more and more and began to get very nauseated. I had to do an old fashioned enema as a fleets only takes care of the lower colon and nothing was happening. Fearful that I may explode, I finally was able to get things moving and at 3:30 had to drink half a bottle of the Citrate of Magnesia. I finally was clear by the morning of the surgery. All is well with my colon, thank you very much, and the doctor gave me a medication called Linzess (linaclotide) capsules which work quite well. No more gastroparesis now but at least I will have something in the future that will help with this. I used to end up in the ER and they though I had an ileus (paralysis of intestines) but I knew it was from this disorder. I used Reglan sparingly as it is not good for some of your organs if taken on a regular basis, but it didn't work these past weeks. I had tried Amitiza but it made me nauseous even at very, very low dosage. Well, that's the poop for now. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Let me know if anyone has experienced this with this disorder. Stay well.
