Many of us with this disorder find that we may suddenly take on fluid at certain times of the year or with changes in weather. The shifts in barometric pressure can make the disorder worse. Dehumidifiers help as well as massage and exercise, but the medication is key in maintaining a more normal balance so we can function even when we are not in remission.

I tried just taking the medication when I was filling up with fluid and it was a disaster. I ended up in bad shape and it took longer for the medicine to work. I am fairly stable when I take it every day now. The doctor said a lot of people like myself who do not like to take medication try this and eventually see that it is needed every day.
