It is always a challenge at this time of year when the weather changes. This year in particular has been crazy. The summer is typically worse with this edema disorder but now it can happen in the fall with high humidity. Of course, this depends on where you live. Would love to hear from anyone on forum what they are experiencing. Good health to you all.

I wanted to add that having a dehumidifier helps a lot when you are home of course. It does help with the edema and overall I feel better having them in the house. I have a barometer in the house (can get at Walmart) and if it goes above 45 I keep it running. They say it is good at 50, but I know what helps me and I am glad I purchased them.
Yes, we should have our own clothing line so we can accommodate all our changing bodies. It is not nearly as bad as it used to be since taking the medication daily. I can gain 5 pounds as well in a few days and have to make a wardrobe adjustment. Some people gain much more fluid and are on very high doses so I feel fortunate for that.
Even with increasing the dose of medication when it is hot and humid, I find that I consistently retain more fluid in the summer.. not a great time to gain 5lbs! Of course it comes off as soon as the weather gets cooler again.
Initially I never put two into together and two together, I thought, I happen to retain a lot more water in the summer then any other month living in California. But it’s absolutely true having an episode during the summer is the worst of the worst. The swelling, was at its absolute peak The joint pain and general feeling of malaise was close practically unbearable. Once or twice I’ve had vertigo along with an edema episode…Talk about a double whammy.
The summer is always the worst for me. I need to carefully plan any time outside in the heat and humidity. Looking back, the two worst episodes that i ever had happened while traveling to extrememly hot and humid environments that involved a fair amount of exercise. Hydration, rest and airconditioning are a must for me during humidity.
